Peninsula Kidney Associates files claims with most insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid. We will file your claim with your insurance company electronically and after the claim has been processed we will communicate any remaining balance.
If you do not have insurance you will need to pay $75.00 prior to seeing the physician. Once the visit has concluded we will collect the remaining payment. You also have the option to set up a payment arrangement for the balance with our billing office. We have many different payment plans and financial assistance options including our FINANCIAL HARDSHIP program.
A patient who has recently had blood drawn at Peninsula Kidney Associates may receive a billing statement for those services from a laboratory. This occurs because your blood is drawn in the office and then sent to an outside laboratory for processing. If you have questions regarding the bill your received please reference the contact information on the statement.
Co-pay is a fixed amount that you have to pay for your care. This is typically done prior to the service being performed.
Co-insurance is typically a percentage that you have agreed to share in the cost of your care with the insurance company. The co-insurance is calculated once the insurance company has processed your claim. Once processed, they will send a notice or Explanation of Benefits (EOB) to our office indicating the co-insurance amount and we will bill you directly.
Deductible is a set amount that you have to pay before the insurance company will pay your claims.
